Well…It can be both good and bad. I will start of by saying that having a friend already in the organization does not guarantee you a bid. The entire chapter still has to vote on you. Your friend can definitely provide a lot of positive input about you, but nothing is for sure.
It’s definitely nice to have someone who can help introduce you to the other girls and make you feel more comfortable but it is also very important to remember that it doesn’t make you a shoe-in.
Also- it is important to join a sorority that fits you best. If you end up not seeing yourself fitting in with the girls you shouldn’t just join because your friend is in it.
I know it seems that there are a lot of negatives in this situation but you should go through recruitment and see it all for yourself. That is the only way to really know how you’ll feel and how everything will pan out.
one thing is for sure- it’s an amazing and fun experience so put yourself out there. :D
