Princeton is thinking of restricting all freshman from rushing and pledging, and postponing it until they are at least sophomores.  What do you think?

  1. its-just-rachelmarie answered: That’s a little too far. William Jewell, my school, has spring formal recruitment and it works out okay but we have 2 work 10x harder for pr
  2. diditaminuteago answered: even though i pledged as a junior, i wished i did it my freshman year. it’s a lot more time with my amazing sisters that i wished i had!
  3. francisx3 answered: If anything, they should just do spring recruitment. I don’t think it’s fair to make them wait a WHOLE year.
  4. teoka-archives answered: I strongly disagree. I joined Phi Sig when I was a freshman, and I was better for it.
  5. sassandpearls answered: Once you’re in college, you’re to be considered an adult. Adults make their own choices. Going Greek being one of them. Let them rush.
  6. njae answered: we have a rule at our school that you can’t join greek life until the second semester of your freshman year and i personally think it works
  7. thehappiestcruisethateversailed answered: My school also only allows Freshman to rush in the Spring. I did it that way and I loved it. In fact, going Greek helped me improve my grades
  8. brookenunley answered: NO. i don’t agree with this at all!
  9. withloveerika answered: It’s never too early. Granted, freshmen should be well informed about their options through informationals but it’s their right to rush.
  10. justamixofme answered: No way! While I think it’s better for Formal Rush to take place in the Spring for freshman, I don’t think it’s fair to make them wait.
  11. hannnahtea answered: Absoutely not. Going Greek your freshman year allows women to find where they feel comfortable and that home away from home right away.
  12. pinkserendipity answered: At my school, freshman rush in the Spring. I think this is a great idea because they are adjusted to college and it’s a way to meet people.
  13. stefanieemae answered: No! Rushing as a freshmen gave me the courage to get involved with other organizations on campus.
  14. gphibsunshine answered: Allowing Freshmen to continue rushing/pledging gives them the opportunity to learn time management and stabilize a support group early on!
  15. meganlesley answered: The school I used to attend made freshman wait until spring rush at the latestto have a semester to settle in and learn about each chapter.
  16. catlarkin answered: I rushed as a sophmore and I am glad that I did. It gave me time to get used to college and what would be expected of me.
  17. thebeautyinmystery said: my school also does the Spring Rush. i liked that because it allowed me to get to know the girls better and gave me the opportunity to make somewhat of a name for myself before i became a ZTA
  18. thebeautyinmystery answered: no way! as a freshman ZTA was the main way that i got plugged into WJC and the activities around me & make friends that i wouldn’t have
  19. get-your-head-straight answered: At my school first semester freshman are not allowed to go through recruitment. Once spring comes around they can and must keep a good GPA

  21. amber-waves-of-blonde answered: NO! I changed so much my freshman year- I was and am still grateful to have sisters that helped me through it.
  22. yoursororitysister answered: I hate this idea. Sorority membership is designed around a 4-year experience.
  23. andarie answered: Spring semester is probably a better way for freshman to get situated but I feel that students should be able to choose what they want.
  24. brittxpensonx answered: At my school freshman are not allowed to rush till their spring semester because you need&should have time just being at collage before hand
  25. floridagirlinpearls answered: no! freshman should definitely be given the opportunity to rush, after all it is a choice and experience that i think college students enjoy!
  26. aintitafinelife answered: They should wait until second semester so that they have a university GPA. This is what my school does now.
  27. saturnsrings said: No. I think that Freshman year is a great time to go Greek. I went greek Spring of my Freshman year. It’s up to the students to keep up with their work and often a greek organization can help with that rather than hinder it.
