Go Greek or Go Home.: Community.
gogreek:
One Thing that keep Greek Life Unquie from joining the chess club or another club o campus it the sense of community. Yes, of course you are apart of Kappa Kappa Gamma or Tri Delta. But you are also part of a Greek COMMUNITY.
Which for some can mean opportunity to network for other a chance to…

Anonymous asked: Hi! My friend and I are going to two different college (Purdue and Alabama) but we both are considering rushing. I think you should do a 'Rushing 101' type of post and maybe get some girls to submit what they have to say about it and just compile it into one huge post.
Thank you so much. ♥
That seems like a great idea! I’ll get right on it! To start, if anyone has any tips you can post them here. :)

claireddd asked: Can you get back to the original content of this blog? If you get hatemail - delete and move on. Right now, this isn't even fun to read. You're only fueling the fire by posting the mails and the responses to them.
I think that is what we are going to start doing. We got everything out in the open and now there really no point in dragging this out.

Anonymous asked: Here's a hint for those who feel the need to send anon hate messages: if you don't like the content of this page, feel free to unfollow. It's pretty simple. Stop bringing down other people and organizations in an attempt to make yourself feel better. In case you haven't noticed... it's not really working.

Anonymous asked: I would like to remind everyone how every single sorority was founded. It started off as a small group of women who eventually grew. No matter what type of chapter you are in, national or local, its all the same thing. We all have the same beliefs and work towards improving ourselves and our community. Just because you are a local sorority doenst mean you are anything less than a national sorority and vice versa. I am a member of a national sorority but I have friends in local sororities and I think its fantastic hearing about everything they have done. Its the sisterhood to celebrate, not the status to fantasize over. We have bigger battles in life to fight. Basically be proud to be greek and wear your letters with pride. There are so many people out there that are antigreek, we dont need to be adding to that hate. Thank you for having both national and local sororities.
True that. I love everything about this!

wahhhh12343 asked: I absolutely love this blog and what it stands for! Everything myself or my sisters have submitted have been posted eventually, even though none of the admins are from the same organization as me. I personally joined my sorority for the sisterhood, and I'm lucky enough to have found it. That's what every Greek organization should be about more than anything: the sisterhood. I hate seeing people put down other organizations just because they may not be recognized nationally or may only have a few chapters.
You're all doing an awesome job with this blog and thank you for remaining classy sorority women in the face of rude anonymous hate messages :)
Thank you so much! :) <3

la-galleta-bella asked: I'm really sorry for the negativity that the Anons are posting to this page. But kudos for handling it the way ya'll are!! I'm a member of Omega Phi Alpha (a service sorority), and it made me feel awesome when you reblogged a post of my letters because it's great to be included. On my school's campus and in general we are often told we aren't a "Real" sorority and that really bothers me. The love for my sisters that I've gained since pledging is as deep and true as any NPC/NPHC sorority.
To the Anons, PLEASE stop the hate!!
Thanks you so much. :) Posts like these remind me why I love being a part of greek life. <3

In light of all the hate going on lately…
“People ask why I am in a sorority and I try to explain all the things a sorority is that they cannot see. A sorority is more than letters on a sweatshirt, I say. More than traditional songs, a gold pin, rituals, and obligation, or a way of life. A sorority is learning about people, a sorority is giving without expecting a return. A sorority is earning respect from others, as well as for yourself. A sorority will not solve all your problems. But I have made good friends and found confidence there to help me take life one step at a time.”
By arguing over which greek organizations are “real” or “true” we aren’t exactly portraying ourselves in a positive light, are we? Girls who are trying to figure out if they’re interested in sorority life may see this page and think “oh so it’s true, these girls are catty.” I doubt we want that. Point being, I’m deeply sorry if your submission hasn’t been posted, or if you felt like we here at fyeahsororities have been rude to you. We’re all sorority girls, we all share a common bond… let’s try and remember that.
I’m a Chi Omega and proud of it. Our symphony states “to live constantly above snobbery of word or deed,” “to speak kindly,” “to act sincerely,” and “to choose thoughtfully that course which occasion and conscience demand.” I know other organizations have symphonies and such that they choose to live by, and I think that somewhere along the way, we forget that. Let’s call it even and return to being the classy, fabulous women I know we all are. :)

eidolonnature asked: Goodness, people are rude. I think you're doing a lovely job! Don't like the anon hate get to you.
:]
Thank you! This makes me feel so great.
P.S- My sorority, a national one, is on a campus completely dominated by locals. We are considered to them a big joke. We are called “The sign-up” sororities/fraternities along with Tri Sigma and Kappa Sigma. It’s so hurtful. We don’t just give away bids. We work twice as hard to shed this phony reputation that the locals have given us. & uniting against their hate has made us a force to be reckoned with.
So in the anons line of thinking the shoe is really on the other foot in my situation.
While I may hate the things these people do to undermine me and my sisters, I have never ever been that hateful.
As greek women we are meant to rise above. Not stoop to that level of hate.

Anonymous asked: Can you please just post a friendly reminder that they are Fraternities, not "frats?" Thanks!
Sure thing. Some people don’t like when fraternities are called frats. In some eyes it can be seen almost as a slur, damaging the credibility of an organization. Please try to be respectful of those who work so hard to uphold the noble standards of GLOs. :D

Anonymous asked: But you're free to be rude to the anon who posted their honest opinion? Okay. Hypocrisy is fine. I guess it's all okay because you're a KaPpA!!!! oh em geeee!
To me, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. BUT- if someone is going to be rude to me (especially anonymously) I am going to dish it right back. & I am not a KaPpA!!!! oh em geeee! I am a Theta Phi. One who believes in justice to each fellow man. Not one who is going to judge other people and their respective organizations just because they are different. If anyone should hate other kinds of Greek organizations it should be me- because I was hazed by a local. But honestly- to each his own.
& it doesn’t really matter what I do or say because nothing is going to change your opinion.
